"Delete it all, reinvent it all urgently. Impose the diktat of absolut happiness and universal thought... that is the gospel of the modern"
So begins the press release for 'The Trilogy of The Moderns', an ongoing dialogue between photographer Gerard Rancinan and writer Caroline Gaudriault whose third part 'Wonderful World' delivers their observations on humanity in it's mad progress via large scale prints and installations incorporating Disney, superheroes/villains, Hollywood Icons and pop culture. Think David Lynch meets Jeff Koons in the MTV green room.
Currently residing in the LondonNewcastle space in Shoreditch (haven of the modern?), 'Wonderful World' is a contemporary mirror reflecting either a sarcastic fable or, if we're not careful, a troubling reality...
With a public casting and photographic shoot onsite this week, Rancinan will unveil the final composition on Thursday 21st June.
